Speakers
Sara Walton Sara Walton is Circularity & Net Zero Sector Lead at BSI. Her work has recently focussed on supporting the sustainability needs of small and medium sized enterprises. Tools developed for this by the National Standards Body for the UK include a freely available step-by-step guide and code of practice: Flex 3030 - Net Zero Transition Plans for SMEs and the first nationally developed standard on the practical implementation of circular practices in organizations, BS 8001, which is currently being revised by a panel of expert stakeholders. Sara leads on solutions for the circular economy, climate adaptation and sustainability, coordinating expertise across key sectors. Other notable areas of experience include risk management, resilience, quality management, health & safety, governance and conformity assessment. |
Vanessa McCorquodale Vanessa develops purposeful sustainability standards, particularly in environmental management. With 15+ years in the sector and qualifications in Carbon Management and Psychology, Vanessa is committed to a net zero future that supports fairness for all species and a thriving natural environment. |
Murray Sayce Murray is the Global Head of Sustainability Assurance for BSI, involved in the design, development and deployment of new solutions and services. He has 25 years’ experience in sustainability, climate change and EHS management and has previously worked for the ERM sustainability group, Ramboll as Head of Corporate Sustainability and Bureau Veritas in various roles including Technical Director for Sustainability Services and Global Assurance Manager. Murray sits on Accountability’s AA1000 Standards Board, ISO’s Project Committee for SDG standards, and ESG working groups for the IAF and IIOA. |
 Paul Pritchard Dr Paul Pritchard has wide experience in corporate sustainability with particular emphasis on financial services and risk management. While at RSA Insurance Group he initially supported the investment function, later becoming Group Environmental Adviser. Supporting finance and other organisations in their TCFD responses, including scenario analysis, has been a recent focus in his work as an independent consultant. Paul also chairs the UK sustainable finance committee, inputting directly to the recent new international financial sustainability standard. |
Lesley Wilson Lesley is Policy and Engagement Lead at ISEP with a focus on the rapidly developing area of biodiversity and natural capital. On behalf of ISEP, Lesley also supports and is a member of the Steering Group of the UK Business and Biodiversity Forum. Lesley has worked in environmental sustainability for 15 years and previously delivered programmes and solutions in sustainability for business at the British Standards Institution, including ground breaking standards in biodiversity net gain and natural capital. Lesley has a qualifications in business management (MBA) and climate change management, and mentors environmental students at the University of Westminster. |
