Speakers

Daniel Goodhand
Daniel Goodhand is an environmental acoustics specialist with over 23 years’ experience and Managing Director of Goodhand Acoustics. He is a Director and Trustee of the Institute of Acoustics and Chair of its Publications Committee. He contributes to national acoustic standards and guidance documents, presents technical papers at conferences, judges industry awards, and writes and reviews technical articles for Acoustics Bulletin. His project experience includes HS2, Crossrail, Thames Tideway and Heathrow.
Dr Martin McVay
Dr Martin McVay is Environmental Public Health Senior Policy Manager in the Welsh Government. When the BS 8233 revision project began, he was the Welsh Government's policy lead on noise and soundscape, a role he was in for over a decade. Prior to that he was an air and noise pollution modeller at the Environment Agency.
 
Dr David Hiller
Dr David Hiller is an Associate Director with Arup based in Manchester, having worked with Arup for 26 years, prior to which he was with the Transport Research Laboratory for 13 years. He is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics and a Chartered Engineer. David has led and undertaken a diverse range of projects covering building and environmental acoustics, planning, groundborne vibration and design of large sound systems. His experience has spanned many sectors and includes residential, healthcare, education, stadia, cultural buildings, science and industry, as well as energy, water, rail, road and aviation. He has provided expert witness services on noise and vibration matters for a variety of planning and litigation inquiries; and is experienced in public consultation and engagement during the planning process.
Emily Rebecca Holbrook
Emily Rebecca Holbrook is a Standards Development Manager at BSI. She has been working with national Built Environment committees for two years, following 10 years working in professional publishing as a commissioning editor. Emily also acts as secretary for a number of European CEN committees
