His career includes senior positions at British Gas, OVO Energy, EDF Energy and VINCI Construction as well as working with rapidly growing start-ups in the low carbon industry.

Tia Magrath is a Net Zero Policy Adviser with a background in law. At the CBI, she has worked closely with businesses to support the UK’s energy transition, ensuring it is positioned as a strategic economic growth opportunity. Her recent portfolio has focused on delivering the infrastructure needed to enable this transition — including government engagement on grid connections, planning reform, and high energy costs.

Deputy CEO, Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP)
Martin works in the UK and internationally to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future and support people in the development of sustainability skills and green careers. He has national and international experience in developing and negotiating global and European environmental management standards and developing capacity for effective implementation. Martin chairs the ISO environmental management systems committee of ~100 countries, is a Board member of ISEP, and a non-exec director of the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) and the Broadway Initiative. He is also a visiting professor at Cranfield University and holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Derby.
