Omkar Joshi

Omkar Joshi (Managing Director - AI & Digital Solutions (Regulatory Services, BSI) plays a strategic leadership role at BSI, shaping the global vision, strategy, and growth agenda for its AI and Digital Solutions portfolio. With deep experience spanning technology, international markets, and the standards ecosystem, he brings a distinctive perspective on AI governance, digital trust, risk management, and the responsible commercialization of emerging technologies at scale.

Anne Hayes

Anne Hayes heads up the BSI Knowledge teams that lead the Sector strategies and the standards to ensure UK and global innovation and policy are supported with relevant standards. Having spent 20 years working within the standardization world she has experience across a broad range of industries and sectors having headed up teams for Governance, Risk and resilience as well as healthcare and sustainability.

Meet the keynote speaker

Dame Wendy Hall, DBE, FRS, FREng

Dame Wendy Hall, DBE, FRS, FREng, is Regius Professor of Computer Science, Associate Vice  President (International Engagement) and Director of the Web Science Institute at the University of Southampton. She became a Dame Commander of the British Empire in the 2009 UK New Year’s Honours List and is a Fellow of the Royal Society, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the ACM. She is a distinguished fellow of the BCS Dame Wendy was co-chair of the UK Government’s AI Review, published in October 2017,  and was a member of the AI Council. She is currently co-chair of the ACM Publications Board and advises the UK Government, other governments, and various companies around the world. In 2023 was appointed to the United Nations High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence. Her new book “AI Explained: a Guide for non Technical Readers” co-authored with Pete Rai was published by Wiley in Sept 2026

  

Meet the speakers

Simon H King

Simon is an Executive Director with more than 30 years’ experience in British business, including extensive experience in international trade and business transformation. His work developing international markets contributed to a Board of Trade Award and led to his appointment as a UK Government Export Champion, working with the Department for International Trade to share practical experience with other British businesses. 

More recently, Simon’s work has focused on AI, trust and human agency. He is particularly interested in how increasingly conversational and autonomous AI may change who, or what, we turn to for answers, advice and decisions, and what that means for human judgement and relationships. 

He is the author of What If the Next Voice They Trust Isn’t Yours?, which explores the growing role of conversational AI in children’s lives and what happens when a machine begins to become a trusted voice. 

Sahar Danesh

Sahar is Associate Director, Global Digital Governance and Partnership at BSI, working in the Strategy team to advance BSI's role in shaping international approaches to digital trust and governance for critical and emerging technologies. Previously, she led BSI’s engagement with government and regulators on AI, quantum, telecoms infrastructure, cybersecurity, and online safety, and spearheaded the development of the AI Standards Hub in partnership with the UK Government. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET, Sahar has extensive experience working in industry, central government and professional institutions, driving advancements at the intersection of technology adoption, global governance, and public policy. 

Manu Mateo

Manu Mateo is Chief Product Officer at Lefebvre Group, leading AI product strategy with a strong focus on the transformation of legal and professional services through AI. He has played a key role in the development and deployment of GenIA-L, Lefebvre’s generative AI platform for legal professionals, combining advanced AI capabilities with trusted legal knowledge. He has also part of the core team having achieved recently Lefebvre Group ISO/IEC 42001 certification, bringing a practical perspective on AI governance and responsible deployment. Manu focuses on turning AI innovation into scalable solutions while building trust through reliability, traceability and measurable value for professionals.
