The Speakers:

 

Jim Waldron
        
Jim joined Skyjack in January 2019 and is currently the Director of Product Safety responsible for Product Safety and Compliance globally. In addition to his role with Skyjack, Jim is also a member of various International and national standards committees and industry working groups. He brings over 15 years of experience from the aerospace sector as an Engineering Manager, responsible for various aspects of airworthiness and safety. He has a master’s degree in Systems Engineering, is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, and holds Chartered Status with the UK Engineering Council.
Keith Hancock
        

Chair of MHE 6 for Hoists of builder’s type & technical advisor to the Construction plant-hire association, Construction Hoist Interest Group (CHIG).

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry from all areas of the supply chain including liaising with principal contractors on their project requirements to global product manager for an OEM in the design and manufacture of both Hoist’s & MCWP’s 

Keith also represents the UK in the development of design standards through CEN TC 10 SC1 for the likes of BSEN 12158/9 & 16719 hoist standards  

 

Mark Blundy

        
Mark is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (H&S), with an engineering background and extensive experience in construction health and safety. Since joining B+K in 2014, he has led continuous improvement across H&S, introducing a comprehensive wellbeing programme and achieving key accreditations including ISO 45001, integrated with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Mark manages the in-house H&S function, supporting managers, staff, contractors and clients through effective policies, training, incident investigation, and best-practice guidance.

Brian Parker
        

Brian Parker is Head of Safety & Technical at the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), where he has worked for more than 5 years leading global initiatives to reduce serious and fatal incidents involving powered access equipment. 

With more than 25 years’ experience in the powered access industry, he has spent over two decades as an IPAF Instructor and previously worked for IPAF Member AFI-Uplift. He also proudly served for eight years in the UK Forces with the Royal Engineers, including overseas operational tours. 

Brian represents the industry on multiple UK and international standards committees and chairs and supports several international safety and technical committees, playing a leading role in shaping guidance on entrapment prevention, secondary guarding, electrocution risk and rescue planning. 

A NEBOSH Diploma holder and qualified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Brian is a strong advocate for evidence-led safety leadership and believes lasting improvement comes from combining robust standards, transparent reporting and collaborative learning across the global industry.

 

Jamie Davies

Jamie Davies has worked in industry on a variety of technical mechanical engineering projects from maintenance to turnkey projects since graduating from university in 1995. He has worked for HSE for over 22 years as a Specialist Inspector of Health and Safety, specialising in Mechanical Engineering maters where he provides technical assistance with incidents involving mechanical equipment. Currently a Principal Specialist Inspector he engages with external stakeholders and standards to influence change and improve safety on a variety of subjects, but primarily focussing on Lifts and Lifting Equipment. MCWPs fall within the portfolio of subjects covered by him on a technical aspect and he was involved in the writing of the safety alert for MCWPs, following multiple incidents involving failure of this type of equipment.
